Presentation by: Dr. Raid Sadda

Dr. Raid Sadda received his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) from New York University, college of dentistry.  For 40 years he has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery and over 19 years practicing dental implant in New York and New Jersey.  He has completed a 2 year postgraduate fellowship Implantology program at NYU , and has been a professor at NYU and attending Oral surgeon at St. Barnabas hospital in Bronx for over 20 years. He holds memberships in many associations including Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland/Dublin, International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Academy of Osseointegration (Implants). He has received several national and international recognition awards, and has been invited as a guest lecturer from different universities and countries.

 

Course Goals and Objectives:

Principles of Antibiotics Use in Dental and Orofacial Infections: Preventing and alternative to the resistance

In this lecture will dicsuss the indication and contraindiction of Ab, mode of action of ideal major Ab. Guidelines for administering of more than one antimicrobial drug and how to avoid Ab resistance.

Peri-implantitis and Implant Failure: Causes and management

Will discuss the differentiation between peri-implant mucositis, peri-implantitis and implant failure.  Advances of surgical and nonsurgical management.  Predisposing factors for peri-implant disease, proper diagnosis and management.

Complications of Tooth Extraction and Management

Discussion will classification of the complications, pre, during and post extraction and management for each of them.

 

New York AGD is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship, Mastership and membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentistry or AGD endorsement.  The current term of approval extends from 01/01/2019 to 12/31/2020.
