NYS Academy of General Dentistry Fellowtrack Ceramic Restorations from Start to Finish: Making Predictable Happen Arthur Volker, DDS, MSEd, FAGD, FACD, DWCMID
When: Friday, May 8, 2015 4:00–6:30pm Where: NYU College of Dentistry, Room 614 Credits: 2 MCE credits [can be applied towards Fellowship] Who Should Attend: All students and faculty are welcome. Course Description: The world of dental ceramics can be difficult to navigate. There is an overwhelming amount of information, with a plethora of available choices. This course aims to explain the proper selection criteria and usage of ceramic materials and ancillary components. Discussion of preparation, impression, and cementation techniques will be addressed. Additionally, effective communication with the dental laboratory to predictably ensure a desired result will be discussed. Course Outline
About the Speaker: Dr. Volker graduated from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He is the Chairman of the New Dentist Committee and a member of the Continuing Education Committee for the NYS Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Volker is a Diplomate of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentists. He is a clinical attending at the Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital and Nursing Facility on Roosevelt Island and is in private practice in New York with an emphasis on cosmetic and minimally invasive dentistry. Dr. Volker has published numerous articles and lectures extensively on cosmetic dentistry, minimally invasive dentistry, dental materials, and dental implants. Dr. Volker is a Key Opinion Leader for several dental manufacturers and has been involved in the testing and development of dental products and materials. He has also served as a consultant to dental laboratories. Additionally, Dr. Volker is involved in dental materials research, particularity in the field of ceramics and dental implants.
