The New York AGD Presents Management of the Medically Complex Patient Date: Sunday, October 19, 2014 Location: 1902 Whitestone Expressway, Suite 204, Whitestone, NY 11357 Registration: 8:00am Lecture 8:30am to 12:30pm Course Code 754 4 MCE Credit Hours About the Speaker: Dr. Peter Mychajliw received his D.D.S. degree from the New York University College of Dentistry with multiple clinical honors. He subsequently completed a two year hospital based General Practice (Chief) Residency at the LIJ Medical Center and subsequently served as its Program Director. Dr. Mychajliw has developed extensive knowledge in comprehensive dental care delivery, including dental implants, to challenging patient profiles such as medically/physically/psychologically compromised patient populations. His expertise also includes the dental management of cardiac, radiation-oncology, HIV, developmentally disabled patients, among others. Description: An introductory course in the integration of the best available evidence, a dental health professional’s clinical skill and judgment and an individual patient’s needs and preferences in order to obtain the “best” treatment outcome and minimize unintended outcomes. Medical History complexities ( ie; diabetes,,etc) will be used to highlight how this process can be effectively integrated into private practice daily use, (and why its imperative to do so asap). Goals: to acquaint the dental health professional with the concept of Evidence based Best Practice philosophy as put forth by the American Dental Association and is currently transforming dental school and general practice residency curriculums. Course includes continential breakfast and Lunch The New York State constituent of the Academy of General Dentistry is an approved program provider. The sponsor’s formal CDE programs are acceptable by the AGD for Fellowship and Mastership and membership maintenance credit. This course is also acceptable for MCE Licensing Maintenance.
