Dr. Panjali is a graduate from New York University. He attended Oral Surgery residency at Frankfurt, Germany in 1991 and continued his implant dentistry education at NYU in 2003. Thereafter, he completed his Master’s Degree in Oral Implantology from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany in 2016. Dr. Panjali is a Fellow of Academy of General Dentistry and a Diplomat of International Congress of Oral Implantologist. He has been the Director of New York Implant Institute since 2008 and runs a comprehensive program in Implant Dentistry as well as a clinical research program. He has published several articles including a 2-year study on placing implants successfully in infected sites. He has also developed the “No Drill Osteotomy Technique” and “ALSAC” Sinus elevation. Dr. Panjali has been lecturing nationally and internationally on dental implants since 1996. He teaches over 30 hands on classes within United States each year in addition to five live patient surgery mini residency program. He owns and operates a full-time active practice in Watertown and Syracuse, NY with emphasis on implant dentistry

Course Details 

In this 1 hour lecture, dental practitioners will learn about some systemic diseases that can manifest in the oral cavity, how they present in such situations, and the appropriate nutrition plan of care.

Objectives:

  1. Identify 3 systemic diseases that can manifest in the oral cavity.
  2. State 3 possible causes for why uncontrolled chronic diseases can create a negative oral cavity.
  3. Explain why it is beneficial for the dental practitioner to identify systemic disease in their patients.

List 2 things a dental practitioner should do once they suspect a systemic disease is present. 

New York AGD is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship, Mastership and membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentistry or AGD endorsement.  The current term of approval extends from 01/01/2019 to 12/31/2020.
