Dr. Emma J. Guzman is a distinguished general dentist practicing in New York City. Known for her dynamic and vibrant personality, Dr. Emma is not only a skilled clinician but also a passionate advocate for holistic health and wellness. Her mission to promote a joyful and healthy lifestyle was inspired by her own wellness journey, where the combination of therapy, nutrition, and consistent physical activity transformed her life. Now, she is dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve optimal health, both inside and out.
Dr. Emma earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and completed her general practice residency at BronxCare in the Bronx, NY. Beyond her dental practice, she is a sought-after speaker, mentor, and community builder. Dr. Emma’s passion for service is evident in her participation in dental outreach missions in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, where she provided essential dental care to underserved communities.
Course Overview
Caries is no longer a "tooth-only" disease, it is a chronic, biofilm-driven, inflammatory condition with systemic implications. As dentistry evolves towards presision diagnostics and preventive care, early detection becomes a critical point of intervention not only for preserving tooth structure but also for reducing inflammatory burden, improving metabolic health and strengthening the oral-systemic connection.
Course Objective
This course equips clinicians with an updated, evidence based framework for caries detection using advanced diagnostic technologies, including transillumination, fluorescence, AI-enhanced radiographic analysis and salivary diagnostics. Participants will learn how to integrate these tools into everyday practiceto improve accuracy, reduce overtreatment, and elevate patient communicatoin around whole body wellness.
