Presentation by: Joseph DiDonato III DDS, MBA, FAGD
Dr. DiDonato has an undergraduate degree in Education. He has taught for over forty years in a GPR program. He has provided numerous courses and videos in the past twenty years, presenting at the GNYDM, AGD National Meeting and numerous constituent meetings. He has authored articles for the AGD Impact magazine and the NYSAGD GP Journal. He has made presentations on clinical and business practice topics. He is interested in helping clinicians who want to get on the lecture circuit. He is an advocate for continuing education in all phases of the dentist career.
Course Goals and Objectives
This series of 4 two hour sessions prepares participants to develop and present dental continuing education. This is a must for anyone who would like to break into the Speaking Field and present courses as a potential additional source of income. The course covers how to choose a topic, outline the material, collect clinical imaging, formulate the presentation and includes the opportunity to present to a NYSAGD audience by zoom.
Each session participants will present timed (5 minute) segments on a topic of interest toward building a one hour presentation. The material will be reviewed by all attendees and provide valuable feedback for improving the content and presenting skills. The final presentation will be vetted by the course facilitator and Chair of the NYSAGD Dental Education Committee, and if accepted will be eligible for presenting to a NYSAGD audience.
At the completion of the course the successful candidate will have a one hour presentation suitable for submission to any DE program and the first delivery of that program to an audience.
Course Objectives:
- Develop the skill set to gather materials, author a course and prepare a presentation.
- Develop critical skills for evaluating and determining course content.
- Explore methods for engaging an audience and presenting a clear message.
- Prepare a one hour course on a clinical topic.
- Deliver the course to a NYSAGD audience.

The New York State constituent of the Academy of General Dentistry is an approved program provider. The sponsor’s formal CDE programs are acceptable by the AGD for Fellowship and Mastership and membership maintenance credit. This course is also acceptable for MCE Licensing Maintenance. The current term of approval extends from 01/01/23 to 12/31/24. AGD Code #219318.
