About the Speaker:
Dr. Gangwani is an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry/Eastman Institute of Oral Health. She earned her Dental Degree from New York University College of Dentistry where she was inducted in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) dental honor society, and received her Advanced Training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Dr. Gangwani is board certified and practices full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Her expertise include performing wisdom teeth extraction, bone grafting procedures, dental implant reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery and reconstructive surgery after facial trauma. She also specializes in management of TMJ disorders and benign pathology. Dr. Gangwani spends a great deal of time educating her patients and providing treatment options, thus helping them make informed decisions about their own health. She is passionate about delivering personalized patient care and is involved in all aspect of her patient’s care both before and after surgery.
Course Objective
Dentist, dental specialists, and dental hygienist are the first line of defense in early detection of the oral cancer. Dental visits are great opportunities to offer oral cancer screening to all the patients. If appropriately performed, cancer screenings can be life-saving.
