About the Speaker

Dr. Marjan Moghadam is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at New York University, College of Dentistry, holding this position since August 2015. Currently, she serves as the Director of Predoctoral Prosthodontic Education.  She began her academic journey at NYU in 2006 after completing the Advanced Education in Prosthodontics Program. Dr. Moghadam has been actively involved in various professional associations, and is the current President of the American College of Prosthodontists, New York Section.

 

Throughout her career, Dr. Moghadam has contributed significantly to research and scholarly activities, participating in clinical trials and systematic reviews. She has received honors such as the Dean's Award for Distinction in Teaching. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Moghadam has been dedicated to service activities and has played a crucial role in various committees, including the Academy of Distinguished Educators and the Faculty Council.

 

Dr. Moghadam's commitment to innovative education is evident in her involvement in technologically enhanced education initiatives, creating instructional materials and leading projects on digital dentistry.

Sunday, June 23rd Lecture Goals and Objectives:

Goals:

  • Comprehensive review of the principles and concepts underlying removable partial and complete dentures
  • Review advanced concepts in partial and complete dentures procedures

Objectives:

  • In-depth review of terminology, principles, and concepts related to removable partial and complete dentures
  • Summarize recent advancements in removable prosthodontics
  • Review of new materials and digital techniques

Sunday, June 30th Workshop Goals and Objectives:

 Goals:

  • Update skills necessary for effective partial denture design
  • Apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios through case-based learning

 Objectives:

  • Conduct hands-on exercises of designing partial dentures
  • Engage in interactive case discussions, focusing on complex cases encountered in dental practice
  • Apply critical thinking skills to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients requiring removable dentures
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer feedback during hands-on exercises

Course Fee: Includes hands-on materials and full breakfast and lunch on Sunday, June 30.

 

 

New York AGD is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship, Mastership and membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentistry or AGD endorsement.  The current term of approval extends from 01/01/2023 to 12/31/2024.
