About Our Keynote Speakers:
Michael Tischler, DDS, FAGD is a nationally recognized leader in the dental field for his achievements in educating his colleagues. He received his DDS from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, a NYUCD Research Associate, Diplomat and Fellow of The ICOI, Fellow of The AGD, The AAID, and The Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Tischler lectures throughout the country and has published on the principles of implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and bone grafting in major dental journals. Dr. Tischler has been listed by "Dentistry Today" as a leader in continuing education since 2003 & is also a contributing editor. He has lectured extensively and is also on The BioHorizons Implant Systems Educational Speakers
Scott D. Ganz, DDS is recognized as one of the foremost experts on CT scanning technology for dental implant applications. graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry - New Jersey Dental School. He completed a 3 year specialty program in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. This was followed by 24 years clinical experience (both surgical and restorative phases) with most major implant systems available today. He is a Diplomat of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Fellow of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, and an Associate Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Ganz is a mentor of the SimPlant Academy and has been well-published in various scientific and professional journals. Dr. Ganz current maintains a private practice for Prosthodontics, Maxillofacial Prosthetics, and Implant Dentistry in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
“Computerized Tomography for Dental Implants and Bone Grafting” Course Synopsis
Treatment planning for dental implants and the growth of supportive bone can be ideally achieved through the utilization of in office Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (CBCT). With CT becoming the standard of care for treatment planning these important modalities, this course will bring a dental practitioner up to speed on every aspect of how CBCT technology can affect their practice and patient care. Over the two days, this course will cover: The fundamental principles CBCT; Hands on aspects of The Sim Plant™ Interactive Program; Multiple case presentations including video; Hands on aspects of the BioHorizonsgrafting scientific principles that apply to treatment.
• Understanding the basics of Cone Beam Computerized Technology (CBCT)
• Understand the importance of CT derived surgical templates, and how to plan tooth borne, bone borne, or soft tissue borne SurgiGuide template fabrication
• Use of SIM/Plant and image guided surgery for esthetic zone cases
• Utilization of CBCT for immediate load cases
• The importance of CT for sinus grafting
• Hands on Sim Plant training
• Hands on model training with the BioHorizons Implant system
• Treatment planning from the prosthetic end result through CBCT technology
Sunday Program Speakers
Richard Trushkowsky, DDS, FAGD received his dental degree from New York University in 1971. He is currently Director of Operative Dentistry at Staten Island University Hospital & a fellow in the AGD and the American and International College of Dentists. Richard has lectured at most of the major dental meetings in the United States. He has also lectured in CE programs at various dental schools, including UCLA, Buffalo and the University of the Pacific regarding esthetic dentistry. He is a published author & continues to evaluate dental products for various manufacturers, Clinical Research Associates, and is a senior consultant for the Dental Advisor Plus. He maintains a private practice in general dentistry, with an emphasis on restorative and cosmetic dentistry in Staten Island, NY.
"Medley of Resin Composite Techniques" Course Synopsis
The appropriate clinical use of various restorative materials & procedures are presented for increased esthetics. Smile design allows these materials to be utilized effectively. Current concepts in dentin bonding are offered to clarify their use. Direct composite for anterior (veneers) & posterior restorations with layering can provide for improved esthetics. Indirect restorations for full and partial coverage are illustrated with appropriate preparation and with an emphasis on adhesive cementation. As a result of this course, the participant should be able to: Provide an appropriate smile design; Understand the differences between total and self etch adhesives; Place direct anterior and posterior composite restorations; Select luting materials for increased longevity of the restorations.
Ben Miraglia, DDS received his DDS from the University of Buffalo and took his GPR at Danbury (CT) Hospital. He is a member of the AGD, ADA, NYSDA, Ninth District Dental Society & the American Association for Functional Orthodontics. Ben is a member of Aligntech Institute Faculty and was the main stage speaker at the opening general session of Invisalign’s Annual 2007 National Summit in Las Vegas. He maintains a full time private practice, in general dentistry, in Mount Kisco, NY.
“Invisalign and Interdisciplinary Dentistry” Course Synopsis This course, designed for the general dentist, will demonstrate the benefits that Invisalign offers to patients. The focus is the use of Invisalign in comprehensive and interdisciplinary cases. Cases will be shown with before, during and after photographs of all phases of treatment including Invisalign, restorative dentistry (crown, bridge and implant) and periodontal treatment.
• Learn the basic technique of Invisalign and the capabilities of Invisalign as an orthodontic technique
• Learn how Invisalign is utilized in comprehensive restorative and periodontal cases.
• Learn how to create a more ideal clinical outcome with a conservative approach to restorative dentistry.
• Understand a team approach to inter-disciplinary dentistry.
• Learn the path from comprehensive record- taking to comprehensive diagnosis, to treatment planning, to patient consultation and ultimately, comprehensive case acceptance and treatment.
• Understand comprehensive/inter-disciplinary treatment sequencing and case completion.
• See the use of auxiliaries to provide rotations and extrusions.
• Learn case finishing and retention techniques to provide long term stability.

Annual Meeting Attendees will earn an additional 5 hours of Lecture MCE on Sunday.
Master Attendees who do presentations on Sunday to Dr. Lin will receive 48 Participation MCE hours as a pre-fellow, fellow or master.
Master Attendees who take the Ganz/Tischler program may earn an additional 20 Participation MCE hours upon completion of your presentation at the Fall 2008 Empire State Masters Program.
The New York State constituent of the Academy of General Dentistry is an approved PACE provider. The sponsor's formal CDE programs are acceptable by the AGD for Fellowship and Mastership and membership maintenance credits. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state of provincial board of dentistry. The current term of approval extends form 01/01/07 to 12/31/10. AGD Code #219318.
